Curious? Angad Arts Hotel 5th Biannual Exhibition

Angad Arts Hotel invites submissions for artwork from the Greater Saint Louis region for the 5th Biannual Exhibition, celebrating the Curiosity Yellow rooms. The hotel is the first arts hotel in Saint Louis, located in the Grand Center Arts District.

Artists are invited to submit work that reflects the exploration of curiosity or the color yellow itself. Submissions may include drawing, painting, graphic design, photography, printmaking, glass, assemblage, collage, written word, fiber, or sculpture. Final pieces must be professionally framed and/or ready for display. Sculpture must be presentable on a wall protruding no more than 6 inches or from the ceiling on a case-by-case basis. Entry fee is free for the first 50 artists, then $35 per artist. Artists may submit up to 3 entries. Eligibility is open to individuals living in the St. Louis, Missouri region and surrounding 200-mile radius (Chicago, IL and Kansas City, MO are not eligible).

Proposals must include full name and contact information, social media handles, artist statement, purchase valuation, high resolution JPEG of artwork, and artwork title, size, weight, and media description. Optional materials include curriculum vitae or resume and a written summary of relevant experience (500 words maximum). Selected artwork will be displayed in prominent public spaces throughout Angad Arts Hotel from November 2021 through April 2022. All artwork on display is available for purchase, with Angad Arts Hotel retaining 33% commission and the artist receiving 67% of the sale. Artwork will be promoted through the hotel's website and social media, included in the Grand Center Arts District's First Friday artwalks, and added to the hotel's digital archive. Artists are responsible for delivery to and from the hotel by November 12, 2021. Notification of acceptance will be sent by November 5, 2021. Opening reception is November 16, 2021.
