Curiosity Under Fire: Creativity in the Age of Censorship

Hera Gallery invites submissions for "Curiosity Under Fire: Creativity in the Age of Censorship," a juried exhibition exploring the relationship between curiosity, creativity, and censorship in contemporary society. The exhibition seeks works that address curiosity as the foundation of learning and the current state of censorship in communities and the nation. Submissions are welcome in all media including 2D, 3D, and video. 3D works are limited to 100 lbs and must fit through a 5'10" x 6'8" door; 2D works must also fit through this doorway.

Application Deadline: August 11th, 2025. Entry fee is $35.00 plus a $5.00 media fee. Applicants must submit a minimum of 3 and maximum of 10 work samples (up to 10 images, 6 audio files, and 6 video files). Juror: Patricia Cazorla, artist, curator, and educator. Artists will be notified of acceptance by September 5, 2025. Exhibition dates: October 11th - November 15th, 2025. Artwork delivery is due by Thursday, October 2nd.

As an artist-run nonprofit, Hera Gallery takes no commission on sales in national juried exhibitions; 100% of sales go directly to the artist. Artists are responsible for all return shipping costs and must include a prepaid return shipping label. Artists are also responsible for their own insurance. Hera Gallery reserves the right to photograph work for publicity and use artist names, likenesses, and artwork in exhibition materials. Eligibility is national.
