Culture & Agriculture Exhibition

The Culture & Agriculture Art Exhibit, a 36-year tradition, is relocating to Gallery Q in Stevens Point in 2025. This juried exhibition celebrates the rich agricultural heritage of Wisconsin, the Midwest, and the United States through both historical and contemporary perspectives. Gallery Q, located in downtown Stevens Point, has been an anchor of the local art scene for over 15 years and supports local artists from Portage County and surrounding areas.

The exhibition is open to artists over 18 working in two- and three-dimensional media who create art inspired by agriculture, including depictions of rural landscape, farm life, or abstract work dealing with agricultural issues and ideas. All styles are considered. Artwork must be from the artist's current body of work within the past five years. Artists may submit up to two works not exceeding 75 pounds, with no single dimension exceeding 80 inches. Entry fee is $30.00. Submission deadline is January 10, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Acceptance notifications will be sent by January 30, 2025.

Awards include: Best of Show $1,000, 1st Place $450, 2nd Place $350, 3rd Place $250, three Honorable Mentions at $100 each, and People's Choice $500. The juror is James Machtan, former director of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's Carlsten Gallery. Gallery Q will publish an electronic exhibit catalog online and on social media. Submission of digital images constitutes agreement for the gallery to reproduce work for website, publicity, and educational purposes. Artists must submit quality digital images (JPEGs under 5 MB, 72-300 ppi resolution) and a 3-5 sentence artist statement.
