About This Call

The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County is seeking four creative professionals in dance, music, theater, and literature (including poets and spoken word artists) to serve as Artist Ambassadors for a two-year term from September 15, 2023 to September 15, 2025. Each ambassador will receive a $2,000 stipend ($1,000 per year, paid in two installments) and will be featured on the Council's website.

Ambassadors will serve as subject matter experts and liaisons between creative professionals and cultural organizations supporting their discipline, with an estimated commitment of 4 hours per month. Responsibilities include: creating a discipline-specific toolkit of resources for the Council's website (updated twice yearly); organizing one professional development workshop during the two-year term; contributing one 500-750 word article for the Council's blog and social media; and responding to inquiries within 48 hours to provide referrals and technical assistance.

Eligibility requirements: applicants must have worked in their field for 10 or more years (not necessarily consecutive or in the same art form), have resided in Palm Beach County for three consecutive years, and have demonstrable biographical history indicating sustained pursuit of a creative career. Application deadline is August 25, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Applicants must submit a resume/CV (no longer than 3 pages), a 200-word statement addressing the Council's greatest strength and opportunity, two print samples, and up to five work samples (images, video, audio, or writing). Selection will be based on demonstrated accomplishment, commitment, artistic excellence, and community commitment. Ambassadors will have a performance review and option to renew after their first year.
