About This Call

CSU Spur invites artists of all backgrounds and experience levels to submit artworks for a juried exhibition celebrating the intersection of community, sustainability, and innovation. The theme for this year's exhibition is "Together on Earth: Celebrating the bonds between humans and the creatures we live among." Artworks should focus on the connection between humans and animals. The exhibition seeks compelling works that explore ideas of environmental stewardship, scientific curiosity, and the power of local storytelling through art.

Submissions are open to artists working in any medium, including painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, fiber arts, and mixed media. All works must be original and created within the past five years. Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. MT on Sunday, September 14th, 2025. The entry fee is $10.00. Artists may submit up to 3 images or 1 video file (minimum 1 sample required). Selected artists will be notified by Friday, September 26th. If selected, artworks must be dropped off in person to CSU Spur in Denver, CO on Wednesday, October 1st or Thursday, October 2nd. Artworks must be ready to be displayed and hung on a wall; framed artworks require security hardware. The exhibition runs from Monday, October 20th, 2025 through Friday, March 13th, 2026. Artwork pick-up is scheduled for Monday, March 16th and Tuesday, March 17th, 2026.

A panel of 3-5 artists, scientists, and/or community members will review submissions. Artworks will be displayed in a public space where staff presence is not guaranteed. Residents of the 80216 zip code are encouraged to apply. For questions, contact Lauren Bína at [email protected].
