CSArt Omaha

CSArt Omaha seeks 9 emerging and established Omaha area artists to contribute their time, creativity, commitment, and artistic expertise to the program in 2016. Curators will select a diverse group of artists based on artistic excellence and the ability to execute the required number of works. Each selected artist will receive a $1,200 commission to support the production of 49 original works of art—40 works for shareholders and one additional work for each participating artist, including the artist themselves.

Artists may experiment on a small scale with a built-in audience through limited edition prints, small-scale paintings, photographs, ceramics, vinyl records, letterpress editions, or fiber art pieces. All artists maintaining a residence in the Omaha metro are eligible to apply. All artistic media are welcome, though visual presentation will be considered in the selection process. Artists must deliver wrapped, protected, and labeled artwork prior to distribution as indicated in their contract. There is currently no plan to exhibit the artwork, but online presence will be possible.

Application requirements include up to 4 images of work (JPG, minimum 1920 pixels on longest side, 5.0 MB maximum), an artist statement and proposal (limited to 2000 characters), artist biography (limited to 1000 characters), artist CV (one page), and a headshot (JPEG, minimum 1920 pixels on longest side, 5.0 MB maximum). Selected artists will receive a share in CSArt Omaha and are invited to attend artist meet and greet events and a final distribution event. Artists must produce 49 individually protected works ready for packing and provide a W9 and signed contract. Attendance at one artist meet and greet and the final event is required. Notification of selections will occur in mid-January 2016.
