About This Call

Crossing the Line: Corcoran College of Art and Design Alumni Exhibition is open to all graduates of the Corcoran College of Art and Design. The exhibition will run from April 14 to May 20, 2012, with a reception on April 14. The juror is Barbara O'Brien, Chief Curator and Director of Exhibitions and Collections at Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art.

The theme "Crossing the Line" is open to interpretation and can refer to architectural thresholds, divisions between people and cultures, formal elements like crosshatching, or questions of propriety and social norms in the art world. Recent works in all media are encouraged. Entries must be original works completed within the last 5 years and properly prepared for installation. The Corcoran reserves the right to reject work that is deemed unstable, differs from submitted digital images or descriptions, or is not professionally presented.

Entry fee is $40. Work samples may include up to 5 images and up to 3 videos (minimum 1 total sample required). Images must be formatted as baseline standard JPEG files at 1920x1920 pixels, under 1.8 MB, in RGB color space. Video files must be between 640x480 and 1920x1080 resolution with a maximum file size of 100 MB. Accepted artists will be notified by February 10. Work delivery is required between March 28-30. All exhibited work must be removed between May 21-25, 10 AM to 5 PM. Shipping costs and return shipping insurance are the artist's responsibility. The Corcoran reserves the right to photograph work for publicity purposes.
