About This Call
Crosscurrents 2026 is an exhibition open to visual artists 18 years and older residing in West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC. Artists may submit up to 3 works completed within the last calendar year that have not been previously exhibited at the Stifel Fine Arts Center. The entry fee is $30 (nonrefundable), and submissions must be completed online by March 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EDT through CAFÉ. High-resolution images (300 dpi) are required for the jury process.
All 2-dimensional works must be properly framed with wire for hanging attached securely to the back. No sawtooth hangers are permitted. Work must not exceed 40 inches in any direction. Framed works larger than 24 x 30 must use plexiglass instead of single pane glass. No installations are accepted. The juror for this year is Justus Cotterill, who holds a BFA in photography from The Cleveland Institute of Art and an MFA in printmaking from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He has worked as a professor, gallery curator, and currently serves as the Exhibitions Specialist for Erie Indemnity.
The exhibition runs April 30 - June 13, 2026 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center. Juror notifications will be emailed the week of March 22. The opening reception is April 30, 2026. Drop-off for accepted works is April 20-25, and shipped works must arrive by April 25. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the artist, and return shipping labels must be included. Pick-up dates for unsold work are June 15-20. Works left at the center more than 30 days past the pick-up dates become the property of Stifel Fine Arts Center.
