About This Call
Crosscurrents 2025 is an exhibition open to visual artists 18 years and older residing in West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC. Artists may submit up to 3 two-dimensional works completed within the last calendar year that have not been previously exhibited at the Stifel Fine Arts Center. The entry fee is $30 (nonrefundable), and the application deadline is April 27, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Submissions must be completed online through CaFÈ at callforentry.org.
All 2-dimensional works must be properly framed with wire for hanging attached securely to the back (no sawtooth hangers). Work must not exceed 40 inches in any direction. Framed works larger than 24 x 30 must use plexiglass instead of single pane glass. No installations will be accepted. A high-resolution image (300 dpi) must be submitted for the jury process. The juror is Michael Lotenero, a painter and designer with over 20 years of experience exhibiting in galleries and museums including The Carnegie Museum of Art, The Austin Museum of Digital Art, and The Westmoreland Museum of Art.
The exhibition runs May 29 - July 12, 2025, with an opening reception on May 29. Juror notifications will be emailed the week of May 4. Drop-off for accepted works is May 19-24; shipped works are accepted May 12-24 (shipping costs are the artist's responsibility, and a return shipping label must be included). Pick-up dates for unsold work are July 14-19. Works left at the center more than 30 days past the pick-up dates become the property of Stifel Fine Arts Center.
