About This Call
Crosscurrents 2024 is an exhibition open to visual artists 18 years and older residing in West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC. Artists may submit up to 3 two-dimensional works completed within the last calendar year that have not been previously exhibited at the Stifel Fine Arts Center. Works done in a class or under the instruction of an artist/teacher are not eligible. The entry fee is $30 (nonrefundable), and submissions must be completed online through CAFÉ by March 10, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
All 2-dimensional works must be properly framed with wire for hanging attached securely to the back (no sawtooth hangers). Work must not exceed 40 inches in any direction. Framed works larger than 24 x 30 must use plexiglass instead of single pane glass. Submissions require a high-resolution image (300 dpi) for the jury process. The juror is Michael Dixon, a Full Professor of Art at Albion College in Michigan. Jurors will be notified the week of March 17.
The exhibition runs April 11 - June 14, 2024, with an opening reception on April 11. Drop-off for accepted works is April 4-6, and shipped works are accepted April 1-6 (shipping costs are the artist's responsibility; return shipping labels must be included). Pick-up dates for unsold work are June 21-29. Works left at the Stifel Fine Arts Center more than 30 days past the pick-up dates become the property of the center.
