About This Call
CROSSCURRENTS 2022 is an exhibition open to visual artists 18 years and older residing in West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Maryland, and Virginia. Artists may submit up to 3 works completed within the last calendar year that have not been previously exhibited at the Stifel Fine Arts Center. Works done in a class or under the instruction of an artist/teacher are not eligible. The entry fee is $30 (nonrefundable).
Work specifications: All 2-dimensional works must be properly framed with wire for hanging attached securely to the back (no sawtooth hangers). Work must not exceed 40 inches in any direction. Framed 2-dimensional works larger than 24 x 30 must use plexiglass instead of single pane glass. No installations will be accepted. Submit a high-resolution image (300 dpi) for the jury process. The Stifel Fine Arts Center will use submitted images for a concurrent online exhibit, documentation, the exhibit catalog, and promotional materials.
Important dates: Entry deadline is April 4 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Juror notification will be emailed the week of April 18. Drop-off and shipped works are accepted April 25-30. The exhibition runs May 12 - July 2, with an opening reception on May 12. Pick-up dates for unsold work are July 5-9. The juror is Delanie Jenkins, an Associate Professor in Studio Arts at the University of Pittsburgh. Shipping is at the artist's cost; return shipping labels must be included. Works left at Stifel Fine Arts Center more than 30 days past the pick-up dates become the property of the center. For framing services, contact Brad Johnson at [email protected] or 304-242-7700.
