Crooked Tree Arts Center 2015 Farm to Frame Photography Exhibition

The 4th annual Farm to Frame juried photography exhibition celebrates agriculture and all phases of local food production, preparation, and presentation in northwestern lower Michigan. Photographs must have been taken in 2015 in Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Kalkaska, Antrim, Ostego, Charlevoix, Emmet, and Cheboygan counties. Photographers of all ages may submit up to three images. The exhibition will be on display at Crooked Tree Arts Center – Traverse City from October 26 – December 5, with an exhibit reception and winners announcement on Thursday, October 29, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Photographs must not have been previously exhibited in the nine-county area and must be dependent primarily on photographic processes. Artwork selected for the exhibition must be framed and ready to hang, with a maximum size of 20" by 17". A name label including the photographer's name, title of work, and location of photograph must be attached to the upper right hand corner on the back of each work. All artwork must be available for sale; Crooked Tree Arts Center will retain a 40% commission on any work sold from the exhibition.

Photographers may submit in one of two age groups: Youth division (ages 18 and under) or Adult amateur/professional. Awards include $500 Best in Show, $250 second place, and $100 third place, with additional awards for the youth division. The entry fee is $10 for adult division entrants; the fee is waived for youth division with coupon code FTFyouth. The juror is Al Wildey, professor of photography and digital imaging at Central Michigan University. Entrants will be notified on Friday, October 9. Framed pieces must be delivered to Crooked Tree Arts Center – Traverse City between October 12 – 21, and picked up December 7 - December 11.
