About This Call
The Crocker-Kingsley Exhibition, first juried in 1940, is a prestigious national art competition that has featured many premier names in American and California art over the past 80 years, including Robert Arneson, Elmer Bischoff, Fred Dalkey, David Gilhooly, Ralph Goings, Gregory Kondos, Roland Petersen, Mel Ramos, Ruth Rippon, and Wayne Thiebault. The 2025 juror is Grace Kook-Anderson, The Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Curator of Northwest Art at the Portland Art Museum. Selected works will be displayed in all 4 galleries at Blue Line Arts from January 11 to February 22, 2025, with a limited selection shown at the Crocker Art Museum from March 9 through May 4, 2025.
All materials are welcome, including installation. Artists must be 18 years or older and residing in the United States. Artwork must be original, completed within the last 2 years, and cannot have been previously exhibited at Blue Line Arts. All artwork must be for sale, with Blue Line Arts handling all sales transactions. Non-member artists receive a 50% commission from gallery sales; members receive 60%. Entry fee is $45, with an additional $5 per image for up to 10 images. Applicants must submit 1-10 images in JPG format (1-3mb, minimum 1200px on one side).
Cash prizes awarded by the juror: 1st place $2,000, 2nd place $1,500, 3rd place $1,000, 4th place $750, 5th place $250. Application deadline is November 23, 2024 at 5:00pm PST. Artist notifications will be sent by December 4, 2024. High-resolution image confirmations are due by December 10 for catalog inclusion. Shipping deadline is December 13, 2024, or hand delivery January 5-6, 10am-3pm. Opening reception is January 18, 5-8pm. Unsold work pickup is February 23-24, 10am-3pm. Artwork must fit through doors with 94"h x 91"w clearance; ceilings are 10 feet tall. All wall-hung artwork must have wire installed prior to delivery (no sawtooth hangers). Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and return shipping labels.
