About This Call
The 54th Annual Crested Butte Arts Festival will return to Elk Avenue in the heart of Crested Butte's downtown Historic District, July 31st - August 2nd, 2026. This outdoor venue features tents setup on asphalt surface on 4 town blocks, with overnight security provided and a dedicated artist internet connection. The festival attracts 10,000-12,000 patrons over three days, with 28% having annual household incomes of $200,000+. Crested Butte is known for its mountain charm and breathtaking vistas, distinguished by a sizable second-home owning population that resides in the region throughout the summer months.
Applications are accepted in 13 fine art and fine craft categories including ceramics, digital art, drawing & graphic arts, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, and wood. Five images are required for each category entered - four images of individual work and one booth shot. The application fee is $45 (non-refundable). All work exhibited must be original in concept, design, and execution, with reproductions allowed but the artist must fill 90% of their booth with originals and one-of-a-kind art.
Booth fees range from $600 for standard 10x10 booths to $1,250 for double corner 10x20 booths, with payment due by April 30th. Artists must provide their own white, unbranded booths and display materials suitable for outdoor environments. Artist amenities include discounted lodging, free vehicular camping, hydration and snacks, and artists retain all sales proceeds. Sales tax of 9.4% must be collected on all sales, with CBAF submitting taxes to authorities on behalf of artists.
