Creatures II

Art Saint Louis presents "Creatures II," a follow-up to the 2018 "Menagerie" and 2016 "Creatures" exhibits. This all-media juried visual art exhibition features artworks about animals, critters, pets, beasts, creatures, insects—real or imagined. The exhibition invites all explorations and interpretations of this theme and encourages all media, styles, and techniques.

Eligibility is open to artists 21 years of age and older living in the St. Louis, Missouri region and surrounding 200-mile radius. Artists must be residents of the St. Louis region/200-mile radius when the show begins on September 26, 2020, in order to submit work and participate if selected. The exhibition runs September 26–October 22, 2020, at Art Saint Louis Gallery, 1223 Pine Street in downtown St. Louis, with a free reception on Saturday, September 26, 2020, 5–7 p.m. Jurors are artists and art educators John Cross and Lisa Ober.

Entry fees are $20 for Art Saint Louis members and $35 for non-members. Submissions must include 1–6 images and 0–3 videos (6 total samples maximum). Artworks must be created/completed between 2017–2020 and not previously exhibited in any Art Saint Louis Gallery exhibit or in any juried exhibit in the St. Louis region during the 6 months prior to the exhibition dates. Limit 3 original artworks per artist. Awards include one $250 Best of Show Award of Excellence and four non-cash Awards of Excellence. All five award recipients are eligible for the "Honor Awards 2022" ten-artist curated exhibit at Art Saint Louis (Summer 2022). The entry deadline is July 9, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
