About This Call
Gainesville Fine Arts Association, Inc. (GFAA) invites artists to submit work for the Creativity Takes Courage exhibition. Open to all artists over 18 years of age. The exhibition will be on display at the GFAA gallery located at 1314 South Main Street, Gainesville, FL 32601, from September 25 to November 12, 2018.
Acceptable work includes 2D and 3D work in all media: Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Photography, Ceramics, Glass and Mixed Media, Digital Art, Wood, Textiles and Jewelry Presented in Shadow Box. All work must be original and created in the last 3 years. Reprints or work found to be copied from copyrighted work will not be accepted. All work must be exhibition ready to install with appropriate hardware and technical equipment. No art created in workshop or classroom setting. 2D work maximum 48" x 48". 3D free standing pieces maximum 72" high x 36" wide x 36" deep. Pedestal pieces maximum 18" x 18" base size x 36" tall. No saw tooth hangers or gallery clips. Each submission should be labeled on the back with artist's name, title, medium, and date created.
Entry fee is $35. Submit 1-2 images. Entry deadline is August 19, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification of acceptance is August 29, 2018. Work must be delivered by September 19-23, 2018. GFAA will charge a 30% commission on all sales. All accepted work must remain in the gallery during the exhibition unless sold. Pickup date is November 12, 2018.
