Creative Images 2007

Creative Images 2007 is a fine art photography competition hosted by Photo Venture Camera Club, a 30-year member of the Indianapolis art community. The competition is open to anyone over 18 years of age and there is no specific theme. Monochrome and color images will be judged separately and will receive separate awards for first through third prize and honorable mentions, with a single award for Best in Show.

Each contestant may submit up to 3 images as jpegs, with an entry fee of $25. The deadline for applications is September 4, 2007, or upon receipt of the first 500 applications, whichever comes first. Accepted images must be matted and framed with outside dimensions not exceeding 24" X 30", and are due by October 25, 2007. Images will be displayed during November at the Arts Garden in Indianapolis, a high-end display space connected by indoor skywalk to hotels, Circle Centre Mall, the Indianapolis Convention Center, and the RCA Dome.

Prizes include $500 for Best in Show, $250 for first place, $200 for second place, $100 for third place, and $25 for honorable mentions. Initial judging will be conducted by Cynthia O'Dell, internationally known photographer and chair of the Arts Department at DePauw University. Final judging will be done by Joyce Wilson, award-winning photographer and former faculty member at Brooks Institute of Photography. Submitted work must be the original work of the contestant, with all photo editing done by the contestant. Contestants are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs to and from the venue.
