Creative Capitol "Our Town, Colorado" A Documentary Photography Exhibit

Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) in partnership with Colorado Photographic Arts Center invites Colorado artists to participate in the Creative Capitol exhibition "Our Town, Colorado" – an exhibit of documentary photography illustrating what makes your community unique. Artists may submit up to eight images (black and white or color) to tell their story, with an accompanying artist statement explaining the images. Selected works will be displayed at the Colorado State Capitol in the Lieutenant Governor's Office, the basement rotunda, and the offices of Economic Development and International Trade from May 14, 2012 through December 3, 2012.

Applicants must currently be a Colorado resident. Only two-dimensional artworks will be considered. Framed artwork must measure at least 11" X 14" framed with the image no smaller than 8" X 10", and not exceed Height 68" x Width 48" x Depth 2 ½". Framed artwork must not exceed 50 pounds. All entries must be suitably presented and wired for hanging with "D" ring hardware or appropriate wiring. Photography must be framed or mounted; photographs mounted on foam board must be framed. A simple wood or metal frame with neutral colored mat is recommended.

Submit up to eight high-quality digital images electronically through CaFÉ at http://www.callforentry.org by March 8, 2012 at midnight MST. JPEGs should not exceed 1.8 MB in size and 1920 pixels on the longest dimension. There is no application fee. Artwork will be juried via digital images submitted. Selected artists will be notified the week of April 2, 2012. All artwork must be available for the duration of the show. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of artwork. Artists may sell their own work during the exhibit, but no work will be removed until the exhibit concludes.
