Creative Capitol: Higher Education Faculty Exhibition

Colorado Creative Industries and the Commissioner of Higher Education invite visual arts faculty from Colorado universities and colleges to participate in an exhibition highlighting their diverse talents. The call seeks two-dimensional creative interpretations of Colorado environments and culture.

Selected works will be displayed at the Colorado State Capitol in the Lieutenant Governor's Office and basement rotunda from December 7, 2011 to May 14, 2012. Eligibility is limited to Colorado residents currently on the visual arts faculty of a Colorado higher education institution. Only two-dimensional artworks are accepted. Artwork dimensions must exceed 20" x 20" and not exceed 84" x 68" x 2½" in depth, with a maximum weight of 50 pounds when framed. Each artist may submit up to two artworks. Digital images only are accepted for the application; slides will not be accepted. There is no application fee.

Artwork must be suitably presented and wired for hanging using "D" ring hardware or wire suitable for cable hanging systems. French Cleat systems are not compatible. Works on paper and photography must be framed or mounted. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of accepted work. Artists may sell their own work during the exhibition but must collect sales tax and cover shipping costs. Selected artists will be notified the week of November 7, 2011.
