Creation Care: Water

"Creation Care: Water" is an exhibition that investigates the human role in the natural environment with a specific emphasis on our interdependent relationship with water. Bridge Gallery is seeking work by artists working in a variety of media who celebrate the vitality of water and/or compel audiences to consider their responsibility for the care and stewardship of this precious resource.

The exhibition is open to emerging and established artists working in all media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking and fine craft. Artists of diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Open to all visual artists at least 18 years of age or older. Proposed artworks will be considered within the theme of the exhibition. There is no entry fee for submissions. All media will be considered, although special consideration will be given to artists who create new works and installations specifically for the Creation Care: Water exhibition. If submitting a proposal for a project not yet created, please include a visual representation of the work as expected when complete with 3-5 sample images, installation sketches, or other supporting information. All artwork selected must be available two weeks prior to the exhibition opening through the duration of the exhibition.

Submissions should include 1-3 images of work (jpeg format, 4" x 6" or greater at 300 dpi or greater), title, year, media, and dimensions for each piece, a short artist biography (up to 100 words), and a short artist's statement about the work submitted (up to 100 words). Submit materials by January 26, 2014 via email to [email protected] with subject line "Submission: Creation Care: Water" or mail to The Bridge Gallery, ATTN: Art Committee, 6399 South Santa Fe Drive, Littleton, CO 80120. Include a SASE if you require the return of materials. Bridge Gallery will host an open house during the exhibition which may include dialogues, lectures, artist talks, panels, or other forms of public engagements.
