CraftTexas 2012

CraftTexas 2012 is open to all artists currently residing in Texas working in craft media including clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood, and found/recycled materials. Each artist may submit up to three original works completed within the last two years. Work must be available for the duration of the exhibition (September 29 - December 30, 2012) and may not be withdrawn prior to the closing date. Crated work must fit through a 4' x 8' door and may not exceed 200 pounds in weight. Work cannot have been previously exhibited at HCCC.

Applications must be submitted online via the CaFÉ system between November 15, 2011 and March 15, 2012 (Midnight, Central Standard Time). The non-refundable entry fee is $35. Submission materials include an artist statement (maximum 1000 characters) and one digital image per work (up to three images total). Work will be juried using high-resolution digital images, which must be accurate representations of the work. Accepted work that differs significantly from submitted images may be rejected at HCCC's discretion.

Three Award of Merit prizes of $1,000 each will be selected by the jurors. All selected artists will receive the CraftTexas 2012 catalogue. Notification of acceptance will be on or before May 1, 2012. Accepted work must arrive exhibition ready between September 17-24, 2012. Artists are responsible for transit and insurance to HCCC. HCCC will provide insurance on all works while exhibited and upon return. If work is for sale, HCCC retains a 50% commission on all retail sales. HCCC reserves the right to photograph and distribute images of exhibited work for educational or publicity purposes.
