Craft Hilton Head 2018, 6th National Juried Fine Art Craft Guild Exhibition

Craft Hilton Head 2018, 6th National Juried Fine Art Craft Guild Exhibition seeks 2D and 3D fine art craft entries that encompass exemplary creativity, experimentation, and imagination. Up to 90 works will be chosen by jurors based on artistic excellence, innovation, and originality. Over $4,000 in cash prizes will be awarded by two nationally recognized judges: Patricia Willcox, an award-winning 3-dimensional multi-media craftsman and costume designer, and Linda Bloom, who has worked as a visual and performing artist, educator, gallery director, and museum curator.

The exhibition is open to all artists over 18 years of age submitting entries of 2D and 3D fine art crafts including sculpture, basketry, glass, fiber sculpture and wall hangings, metal works, clay, handmade artist books, jewelry, weaving, wood, and assemblage. Work must have been completed within the last two years. 2D works should not exceed 40" wide x 60" high. 3D works should not exceed 7' x 3' x 3' (including pedestal) or weigh more than 50 pounds. Freestanding sculptures should need no special mounting, and suspended work cannot be accepted. Exceptions to these specifications can be made when work is hand delivered, installed, and de-installed by the artist.

The entry fee is $35, which enables each artist to enter up to 3 applications of 1 work each and submit 1 image per application. The application deadline is October 20, 2018. The exhibition will be free and open to the public from December 4–29, 2018 at Art League of Hilton Head's Gallery located inside Arts Center of Coastal Carolina on Hilton Head Island, SC. An opening reception and awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, December 5th from 5-7pm. All shipped artwork must arrive by November 20, 2018. Artwork dropped off in person must be delivered on December 1 or 2 between 10 am and 12 pm.
