About This Call
Craft A Force in Contemporary Art is an online juried exhibition exploring the intersection of craft and contemporary art-making. The exhibition runs from November 30, 2023 to December 30, 2023. Site:Brooklyn Gallery is seeking works across all styles and mediums that address the place and future of craft in contemporary art, from textiles and metals to glass and stone integrated into fine arts practice.
The exhibition is juried by Annabel Keenan, a Brooklyn-based independent curator and writer specializing in contemporary art and sustainability. She has contributed to The Art Newspaper, Brooklyn Rail, Hyperallergic, Artsy, Cultured Magazine, and Avenue Magazine, and has held positions at the Broad Museum, the Eames Foundation, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 years of age or older working in all media. Only original works may be submitted. Entry fee is $26.00 for three images, with a $10 media fee for each additional image (3-8 images total required). All artwork must be priced for sale and available throughout the exhibition. Artists retain 60% commission on all sales. Notification of acceptance will be sent November 8, 2023. Once accepted, artists must upload high-resolution photo files of their work.
