CPA 12th Annual Open Juried Photographic Exhibition

Cary Photographic Artists is pleased to announce its 12th Annual Open Juried Photographic Exhibition. The exhibit will hang October 25, 2019 through December 13, 2019 at the Cary Senior Center, 120 Maury Odell Place, Bond Park (off High House Road), Cary NC 27513.

This exhibition is open to photographic prints only. Any photographic process may be used as long as the photographic process is dominant. Canvas wraps and prints on wood, metal, foam core, or other surfaces are acceptable. Framed images cannot exceed 33 inches on the longest edge. All work must be framed and properly wired for hanging, with wire ends securely taped. Sawtooth or alligator hangers are not permitted. Work accepted in prior CPA Juried Exhibitions is not permitted. There are two categories: Monochrome and Color. Judging will be done of prints only. Digital entries are not requested nor required.

Entry fee is $35.00 for up to three images submitted by October 19, 2019. Same day registration is available for $50.00 for three images on October 21, 2019 between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Prints must be delivered to the Cary Senior Center on October 21, 2019 between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Notification of artists whose images are accepted will be made by phone on October 22, 2019 between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Artists who do not receive notification must pick up their images on October 23, 2019 between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Accepted pieces may not be removed until December 14, 2019 (pickup between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm) or December 15, 2019 (12:00 pm and 2:00 pm).

Cash awards include: Best in Show $250, Monochrome First Place $150, Second Place $100, Third Place $75, and three Honorable Mentions $50 each; Color First Place $150, Second Place $100, Third Place $75, and three Honorable Mentions $50 each. A reception with comments by the jurors and presentation of awards will begin at 6:00 pm on October 25, 2019 at the Cary Senior Center. This competitive exhibit typically draws about 225 images with approximately 50 images selected for hanging. Entry fees are non-refundable.
