About This Call
The County of Santa Clara invites local art galleries and non-profit arts organizations to submit up to 20 original 2-dimensional artworks for permanent display at Valley Health Clinic in Palo Alto. Up to 40 artworks total will be selected for installation in the clinic's public-facing areas, including waiting rooms, corridors, and exam rooms.
Eligible artists include painters, muralists, graphic artists, and photographers. Artwork themes may include healthcare and wellness, healing environments, supporting physical and emotional recovery, reducing stress, and relating to local history and diversity. Both portrait and landscape orientations are accepted. Reproductions will not be considered; only original artworks created at any time are eligible. All copyrights remain with the artists.
Selected artworks will be purchased at up to $2,500 per piece, with a suggested 60-40 split between the gallery/non-profit and the artist. Maximum compensation per proposer is $50,000. Artwork must be professionally mounted with archival materials and shatter-proof Plexiglas. Payment is made upon delivery of ready-to-hang artwork to the clinic. Submissions must include up to 20 images of artworks, a slide list with artist name, title, dimensions, and cost for each work, and a curatorial statement of no more than 500 words. Applications are submitted electronically via CAFÉ. The submission deadline is June 2, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. CST. Artwork installation is scheduled for July 9-18, 2025, with completion by August 1, 2025.
