CORE New Art Space - Mixing Your Media

CORE New Art Space invites artists to submit work for the Mixing Your Media exhibition. This show is for artists who incorporate at least two different media in a single piece; more than two media are encouraged. Examples include painting on sculpture or adding photographic imagery to found objects.

CORE is a cooperative gallery with over twenty skilled artists located in the center of the Art District on Santa Fe in Denver, Colorado. The gallery regularly hosts thousands of visitors on First Friday evenings, particularly in the warmer months. The Mixing Your Media juror is Mark Friday, an accomplished artist with an affinity for mixed-media work. Mark received his BA in 1980, and his work spans nearly 40 years, featured in corporate and private collections throughout the United States. He is currently a faculty member of the Art Student's League of Denver.

Submissions must include 1-3 images (if 3-D work, up to 2 shots per piece). Entry fee is $35.00. Judging will be based on overall impact, content, composition, mastery of techniques, creativity, and craftsmanship. When entering, please list all media used. Consider weight and fragility of your media if mailing your entry. Show dates: November 12-29. Notification of acceptance: October 8. All work must arrive at CORE by November 4. Artist reception: November 13, 6-9 p.m.
