About This Call
This exhibition seeks to show art that has cast away the color system and focuses on the visual power of black and white, reflecting the innovative and contemporary in painting, photography, drawing, printmaking, mixed media and sculpture. All artists across multiple and interdisciplinary mediums and forms are invited to participate. Both 2D and 3D work are encouraged.
Work must be completely dry and have suitable means for hanging (no sawtooth hangers). Standing art must be stable. The maximum limit on the longest side is 48 inches. Judging will rely on overall impact, content, composition, mastery of techniques, creativity, and craftsmanship. When entering, list all media used in the description field for your images.
Show dates are July 12–July 29, with an artist reception on Friday, July 13, 6–9 p.m. Notification of acceptance will be sent June 22. All work must arrive by July 7. Entry fee is $35.00 for 1–3 images. Core charges a 30% commission plus tax on art sold, with payment rebated within 45 days of the show's close. Artists are responsible for shipping and insurance. Artwork must be picked up by 4 p.m. on July 29; after 30 days, unclaimed work will be considered property of the gallery. The juror is Deanne Pytlinski, Associate Professor of Art History, Theory and Criticism at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
