Core New Art Space: Aqua

Core New Art Space invites all artists working in any mediums (2D and 3D, excluding videos and installations) to submit work interpreting the theme "Aqua." This can reference the greenish-blue color in its various shades, the Latin root meaning of water (sea, rain, ponds, lakes, tears, water creatures), or any other ideas the theme inspires. Abstract, realistic, colorful, or black and white interpretations are all welcome.

Entries must be submitted electronically by August 14th, 2020, with a $35.00 entry fee for up to 3 works. Submit 1-3 images of your work. Work must be no larger than 48 inches on its longest side, including frame. Judging will consider overall impact, content, composition, mastery of technique, creativity, and craftsmanship. Please list all media used in the image description field.

Accepted artists will be notified on August 17th, 2020. Work must arrive at CORE by September 5th, 2020 (local drop-off by 4pm September 6th). The exhibition runs September 11-27, 2020, with an artist reception on Friday, September 11th from 6-9pm. Work must be completely dry with suitable hanging means (no sawtooth hangers); standing art must be stable. CORE charges a 30% commission plus tax on sold work, with payment rebated within 45 days of the show's close. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and their own insurance. Work must be picked up by 4pm September 27th, 2020; unclaimed work after 30 days becomes gallery property. The juror is Chris Stevens, Curator at Curtis Center Greenwood Village.
