Core New Art Space: A Thousand Words

This juried exhibition seeks artwork that tells a story. Art can be realistically, abstractly, or expressionistically inspired by literature and legends, poetry and parables, novels and narratives, myths and metaphors. Submissions might have their own fiction, fable, folklore, or fairytale. The exhibition welcomes all mediums in 2D and 3D (except video and large installations). Work must be no larger than 48 inches on its longest side, including frame.

Core New Art Space invites artists of any medium to submit up to 3 works electronically by March 18, 2021, with a $35 entry fee. The exhibition runs April 16–May 2, 2021. Accepted artists will be notified on March 22, 2021. Work must arrive at the gallery by April 10, 2021 (or by 4pm on April 11, 2021 for local drop-off). The juror is Richard Chamberlain. Judging will be based on overall impact, content, composition, mastery of technique, creativity, and craftsmanship.

Art must be completely dry, with wall and suspended art having suitable hanging means (no sawtooth hangers). Standing art must be stable. All work must remain in place for the duration of the show. Core New Art Space charges a 30% commission plus tax on sold work, with payment rebated to the artist within 45 days of the show's close. Core takes precautions to protect premises and art but is not responsible for loss due to damage, theft, vandalism, or accident. Artists are responsible for their own insurance and shipping. Artwork must be picked up by 4pm on May 2, 2021; unclaimed work after 30 days will be considered property of the gallery.
