ConTEXT II

Art Fluent invites artists worldwide to submit artwork to ConTEXT II, an online exhibition. The theme explores the use of text in art—how words can connect with people personally and emotionally and, when combined with visual elements, create powerful impact. Text can convey messages or express ideas through written words, letters, numbers, or symbols, adding depth, meaning, and emotion to artwork.

Submissions must be received by Friday, May 19, 2023 at midnight MST. Accepted pieces will be displayed in the online gallery at www.art-fluent.com, with notification of acceptance by Friday, June 16, 2023. Entry fee is $25 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry, up to 20 total submissions. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance. For 3D work, additional detail shots do not require additional fees; send extra views by email to [email protected].

Awards include Best of Show ($750) and two Director's Choice awards ($250 each). All accepted pieces are displayed in the online gallery. The exhibition is curated and juried by Creative Director Amy Matteson Neill along with an anonymous committee of jurors. Work must be original and not copied or done under instructor guidance. The call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional, working in all fine art mediums including oil, acrylic, watermedia, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, ceramics, digital art, and film/video. Work previously selected for Art Fluent exhibits is not eligible. Images must be in JPEG format at 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side with maximum file size of 5 MB. Accepted video formats include MOV, MP4, and WMV with aspect ratio 4:3 or 16:9, minimum resolution 640x480, maximum 1920x1080. For artwork sold, artists receive 100% of the sale. A portion of entry fee proceeds is donated to organizations supporting the arts and artists.
