About This Call

Contents May Vary is an exhibition of functional and non-functional ceramic works in all themes, genres, types of clay, and firing methods, that fit within a 6" x 6" x 6" shipping box. The exhibition is open to national artists. Entry fee is $30.00.

A minimum of one work and a maximum of three works may be entered by each artist, with a maximum of two images per work. Entries must be original works of art created entirely by the entrant within the last three years. No work will be accepted which is in violation of any copyright. All works must be display-ready upon arrival. Entrance notification will be made by October 12. Works must be delivered to Pewabic October 20-26, 2015.

The exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, November 6, 2015 and continues through December 20. Juror Heather Mae Erickson is assistant professor and ceramics coordinator at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee and resides in Sylva, North Carolina. Erickson earned her BFA at The University of the Arts, majoring in Crafts specializing in Ceramics with a concentration in Art Education, and her MFA in Ceramic Art from Cranbrook Academy of Art. She was awarded a Fulbright fellowship to conduct independent research at Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland from 2004-2005, and an Independence Fellowship for a summer 2009 residency at The International Ceramic Research Center in Denmark. She was the 2009-2012 Robert Chapman Turner Teaching Fellow in Ceramic Art at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Erickson's work has been shown internationally and is represented in collections around the world, with numerous awards including first place for the Horizon Award presented by the Museum of Art and Design in New York.
