Contemporary Colorado: A Survey of Contemporary Art in Colorado

The Curfman Gallery at Colorado State University announces "Contemporary Colorado: A Survey of Contemporary Art in Colorado," the first exhibition in the newly renovated Curfman Gallery at the heart of the Colorado State University Campus. Open to all artists who live or work in Colorado, working in any medium, the exhibit will highlight the innovative works of Colorado's contemporary artists. The juror is Nora Burnett Abrams, Associate Curator, Museum of Contemporary Art Denver.

Allowed media includes any medium, including 2D, 3D, video, sound, and small-scale installation. Works must be ready to hang, or the artist must be willing to come to the site for installation. Artists pay to ship work to the Gallery; the Gallery will cover all return shipments. Submissions are accepted from 2/21/14 to 5/16/14. Jury selections occur from 5/23/14 to 6/27/14. Work will be received 8/4/14 to 8/7/14, with the opening on 8/21/2014 and the show closing on 10/24/2014. Work will be returned 10/27/14 to 10/31/14.

Awards include Best in Show: $1,500.00 and Honorable Mention: $500.00. The Curfman Gallery, located in the Lory Student Center at Colorado State University, provides a showcase for the creations of nationally and internationally recognized artists, as well as the work of local and student artists.
