Contemporary Art of the Latin American Diaspora

The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County seeks applications from artists who identify as Hispanic or of Latin American ancestry to participate in a Main Gallery exhibition honoring Hispanic Heritage month. The exhibition will be curated by Juliana Forero, founder of Nomad Art Projects. Exhibition dates: October 28, 2022 – January 14, 2023.

Artwork submitted may be any medium including photography, video, works on paper, sculptural installations, crafts, and textiles. Artists are invited to submit up to seven images or six audio or video files of artworks. Files must be no larger than 5 MB per file. Please include all artwork information (Title, Date, Dimensions, Medium, Edition, and Insurance Value). Submissions will only be accepted by the online platform CaFé.

Eligibility: Applications will be accepted from individual artists or artist collaborators who live in Palm Beach County. There is no fee to exhibit. The Council retains 25% of all art sales. Benefits include professionally-installed show in well-respected gallery space, collaboration and networking opportunities with other artists, preview reception open to Council members, marketing and public relations support, valuable exposure to Council members and the general public, and sales potential. Services include professionally designed exhibition card and preview invitation, opening preview reception, inclusion on Council's website and in e-newsletter, exhibition signage, opportunity to be featured on social media, and possibility to do an artist talk or demonstration. Notification of participation: Week of August 22nd – no later than August 26, 2022. Artwork drop off: October 17, 2022 (10:00 am to noon). Selected participants are responsible for delivery and pickup of artwork. Artwork will be insured on premises if a list of artwork titles, descriptions, and values is presented prior to delivery. Artwork is not insured while in transit.
