About This Call

Connections Matter is a juried, national visual art exhibition about the connections in a person's life and how impactful they are for support, happiness, and overall well-being. Imurj has partnered with Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina to highlight the importance of connections in a child's and family's life. The exhibition seeks work inspired by, portraying, interpreting, or otherwise approaching connections and bonds between people, and the positive change that happens when people truly connect.

The exhibition will be on display in Imurj's Main Gallery from August 2 - September 1, 2019. Artists living in the United States may apply. Limit two works per applicant. All mediums accepted with a maximum size of 50 inches in either dimension. All 2D works must be wired upon dropoff/delivery to hang from Imurj's gallery cable system. For 3D works (sculpture, costume design, etc.), the maximum weight for works on a pedestal or table is 90 lbs; maximum weight for works hanging from the ceiling is 60 lbs. Application fee is $20. Work samples may include 1-2 images, 0-2 audio files, and 0-2 video files (6 samples maximum total). Artwork drop-off/delivery is scheduled for July 29-30, with pick-up/ship-back on September 2-3. An opening reception will be held Friday, August 2 from 5-9pm. Sales commission is 60% to artists, 20% to Prevent Child Abuse NC, and 20% to Imurj, with checks mailed in the first two weeks of September. For accessibility accommodations or questions, contact Kenneth Proseus at 919-825-1515 ext 711 or [email protected].
