Conjunction

Conjunction explores the unique combination of two or more concepts that unite to either oppose or compliment each other. Concepts could include design elements and principles, political/social/environmental issues, or use of techniques and materials. Juror Martha Wolfe seeks clever and original work: "Show me something new and original, not only in the interpretation of the theme but in the materials and techniques used."

Artists may submit up to 3 pieces of any size based on the "Conjunction" theme. Additionally, FRCQ offers a "Show within a Show" featuring non-juried pieces that do not need to relate to the theme. Pieces for this section must measure precisely 12" x 12" including border or frame and are automatically accepted. Artists may enter up to 3 of these 12" x 12" pieces for the same fee. All work must meet the SAQA definition for art quilts, be original, wall-mountable, and completed after June 1, 2015. Work previously shown in FRCQ exhibits is ineligible. Entry fees: FRCQ Members $35.00, Non-Members $50.00. Submissions accepted online only through www.callforentry.org. Images must be JPEG/JPG format, 1200 pixels or greater on longest side, no larger than 5 MB. Exhibit location: National Center for Atmospheric Research, Boulder, Colorado. Notification of acceptance: April 13, 2020. Artwork deadline: May 23, 2020. Exhibition dates: June 1 - July 31, 2020. Opening reception: June 6, 2020, 4-7 pm.
