Concept to Completion: Professional and Student Cast Iron Art Exhibition

The Western Cast Iron Alliance, Scottsdale Public Art, and Scottsdale Community College invite submissions of up to three works for the National Juried Student and National Juried Professional Cast Iron Art Exhibitions. These exhibitions will take place during the 2016 5th Biennial Western Cast Iron Art Conference and will be displayed at The Gallery @ the Civic Center Library in Scottsdale, Arizona from October 3rd through December 31st, 2016. The submission deadline is September 9th, 2016 by midnight MST. The entry fee is $20.00.

The exhibitions will be juried by Mary Bates Neubauer of the ASU Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts and Wendy Raisanen, Curator of Exhibitions, Scottsdale Public Art. The opening reception will be held on Thursday, November 3rd, 2016 from 6-8pm. Mixed media is encouraged; however, cast iron must be an integral part of the submitted work. There are no scale requirements, but artists must supply detailed installation instructions. Bases will be provided by Scottsdale Public Art and Scottsdale Community College. All accepted work must arrive in Scottsdale no later than September 26th, 2016 and be complete with an enclosed return shipping label.

Artists are responsible for shipping costs and insuring work to and from Scottsdale. All works must be stable, and a completed loan document must accompany juried and displayed artwork. Scottsdale Public Art reserves the right to reject and return any work that does not meet preparation criteria or if the submitted image was altered and does not accurately represent the artwork. Submissions should include 1-3 images of the work.
