About This Call
Concentricity is the first alumni exhibition hosted by the School of Visual Studies at the University of Missouri to celebrate graduates from the degree programs in Art, Graphic Design, Art History, Digital Storytelling, and Film Studies and Film Production. The exhibition will be juried, and the organizers will accept as many artworks as possible to fit within the Montminy Gallery at the Boone County History and Culture Center. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
Eligibility is limited to graduates (BA, BFA, MA, MFA, PhD) of any degree program in the School of Visual Studies. Submissions must include 1 to 10 art images (plus detail shots as needed) or up to 10 videos/films (maximum 20 total samples). All work must be original to the artist. Selected artists will be notified on or before January 15, 2024. The exhibition runs from March 3 to April 27, 2024.
Installation requirements for 2D and 3D artworks include: works must be ready for display with no ceiling hangs; wall-hung works must not exceed 50 pounds and have a maximum longest dimension of 72 inches; 2D framed artworks must have hanging wires in place; 3D works must fit through a standard doorway; and all works must be labeled with artist name and title. Selected video/film artists will receive information to provide a high-quality export. Selected visual artists will receive detailed shipping and drop-off information. Works are due February 26-27, 2024, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Art pick-up is scheduled for April 30 to May 1, 2024, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
