About This Call
Artlink invites artists to submit small works of any media that are no larger than 8 inches in any dimension for the 2nd annual juried exhibition COMPACT, juried by Exhibition Coordinator Ellen Mensch. The exhibition explores and celebrates the focused power of small works of art, recognizing that scale is a particularly dynamic strategy that, when leveraged effectively, often has a corporal impact on the viewer. A small-scale piece pulls viewers close, inviting an intimate encounter with the work. The resulting showcase will be unified solely by the "small, but mighty" scale of the works.
Ellen Mensch is a Fort Wayne-based artist, curator, and educator with a BFA in painting from Indiana University and an MFA in two-dimensional studies from Bowling Green State University. She has managed exhibitions and educational programming at Artlink for over 5 years and has taught visual arts courses at Bowling Green State, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Saint Francis University.
Entry fee is $12 per entry, up to 10 entries. Eligibility: artists must be 18+ years of age and reside in the US. All accepted works must be available during the exhibition timeframe (October 23 - November 16, 2025) and ready for installation upon delivery. Accepted artworks must arrive at Artlink no later than October 12, 2025. All artwork sales are subject to a 35% sales commission. Artwork will be insured during exhibition at Artlink. Artlink is not liable for damage or loss in transit to and from the gallery. For special installation instructions, contact [email protected] prior to the submission deadline.
