Community Keys - City of Frisco, TX

The City of Frisco announces opportunities for artists as part of Community Keys, an ongoing program featuring painted pianos sited in public spaces around Frisco. Up to four artists will be selected for this call. Selected artists will receive a $1,250 honorarium inclusive of all materials needed to complete the project.

Artists must submit original designs in the provided template that are appropriate for an office setting and viewing by public officials, City employees, and citizens, including children. Designs must not infringe on copyright. Artists may submit up to three designs for consideration. Submissions must include an artwork description (up to 1,000 characters) and be submitted through www.callforentry.org. Files should be scanned or photographed clearly and be large enough to print at 8.5" x 11". AI-generated designs will not be accepted. Selected artists are required to paint the piano at a City of Frisco designated site at times approved by the City.

Artwork submissions will be reviewed by City of Frisco staff based on compliance with requirements, appropriateness of content, originality of concept, visual impact, demonstrated excellence of technique, and whether the artwork reflects the shared values of the City of Frisco. All artists will receive written notice of acceptance or rejection. Selected artists must sign a public art agreement and submit a general liability insurance policy meeting City requirements. Upon completion and final acceptance, the artwork becomes the property of the City. The deadline for submissions is April 20, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
