Community Center for the Arts Call to Artists

The Community Center for the Arts is calling for proposals from individual artists or small artist teams to exhibit in four spaces during 2015: the Theater Gallery, Courtyard, Sculpture Pad, and Glenwood Lobby. The Theater Gallery is approximately 35 feet long, located in a transitional hallway from the theater to the education pavilion with exhibition space on both walls, hosting over 100,000 audience members annually. The Courtyard is an outdoor graveled area roughly 30' by 30', visible through glass on three sides and from the outdoor space above. The Sculpture Pad is located on the Cache Street side of the center, visible to passersby and two blocks from the town square, approximately 51 square feet. The Glenwood Lobby is a high traffic area in the heart of the education pavilion with available space of 9' by 20' and 9' by 15'.

This is a juried call focused on providing diverse, high quality art experiences for the community. The jury will consider cutting edge contemporary art as well as artists working in traditional media with a fresh vision, evaluating submissions based on excellence, contemporary vision, technical expertise, and suitability for the space. Both emerging and established artists are encouraged to apply. Work can be offered for sale, with the Center taking a 30% commission to cover costs. The Center will provide online marketing, limited print marketing, and an opening reception for the artist.

Eligibility is limited to artists residing in the inter-mountain region: Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, or Utah. Artists associated with the Center are welcome to apply. Entry fee is $25.00. Applicants must provide 4-10 images (preferably the proposed work or very similar work), a current CV, and a one-page statement of proposal including details on the time frame in which work would be available. The artist is responsible for getting work to and from the Center. Exhibition space is open to the public daily and is not monitored; exhibiting work is at the artist's risk, though all care will be taken to ensure the safety of the work.
