Coming of Age: Artists Under 30

Coming of Age: Artists Under 30 is an exhibition open to artists ages 18 and older born after September 1, 1984. The entry fee is $35 for up to three submissions. Artists may submit 2D, 3D, or video work. Work must not have been shown at the Sharon Arts Center in the past two years.

Submission requirements: 2D work must not exceed 100lbs and must not exceed 84" in either direction. All wall hanging art must be properly framed and wired, ready to hang. Gallery wrapped canvases are accepted without a frame only if properly wired and all edges are painted. 3D work must not exceed 100lbs, and wall mounted work must be ready to hang. Video submissions should be two-minute clips on continuous loop or a private secure link. Original work only. All submissions are processed through CaFE.

Accepted work must be available June 24 - September 7, 2015. The opening reception and award presentations are July 3. All art deliveries are due by June 24. Best in Show receives $500; 2nd and 3rd Place each receive $100. All work must be for sale; Sharon Arts Center collects a 40% commission. Shipped work must include a return shipping label and be packaged securely with bubble wrap. Pick-up for sold work and unsold local work is August 29. Artwork is shipped back to non-local artists September 7. The juror is Michelle Aldredge, founding editor of Gwarlingo. Questions should be directed to [email protected] by May 10, 2015.
