Come as You Are! A PRIDE Art Exhibition for Minnesota Artists

The City of Bloomington's Human Rights Commission in partnership with Artistry is accepting artwork for "Come as You Are!," an art exhibition celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and the 50th Anniversary of Twin Cities Pride Festival. The exhibition runs June 3 – July 8, 2022, in the Inez Greenberg Gallery at the Bloomington Center for the Arts.

Emerging and established artists residing in Minnesota who are 18 years or older are invited to submit one or two artworks reflecting the theme "Come as You Are!" and/or celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. All 2-D and 3-D visual art mediums are eligible, except film and video. Artwork must not exceed 50" in any direction including frame. There is no application fee. Proposals must be received by February 3, 2022, and applicants will be notified by March 1, 2022.

Proposals must include: an artist statement of 1000 characters or less explaining how the work fits the theme; 1 or 2 digital artwork samples as JPEGs (1200 pixels minimum on longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, under 5 MB); information about each work including title, medium, size, and date of completion; and optionally a one-page resume or biographical summary. Artwork will be reviewed by a curatorial panel based on artistic excellence, creativity and originality, and cohesion to the theme. The panel will select work appropriate for a family-friendly audience that showcases variety in visual art mediums, subjects, and creative voices. If artwork is marked for sale and sells during the exhibition, Artistry will take 40% of the retail price and handle all sales transactions and sales tax.
