Colorful Symphony

Colorful Symphony is an online juried exhibition open to all 2D media (excluding photography and digital art). The theme celebrates color in painting, including strong colors highlighting focal points, complementary colors, warm and cool palettes, or limited palettes. Artists may also interpret the theme through imagery involving music. The exhibition runs July 5th through August 8th, with an online opening reception on Thursday, July 10th at 6pm ET on Zoom.

Entry fee is $15 per image for non-members and $10 per image for members. Submit 1-3 images of work completed within the last 10 years. Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, egg tempera, and other 2D media on any 2D surface. Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show, may not be copied from copyrighted material, and must not be partially or wholly painted by another artist or created under direct guidance or from tutorials. Work may be listed as not for sale (NFS) by contacting the gallery at [email protected]. There is no size limit for this show.

Acceptance notification is July 4th. The juror is Carolyn Lord. Over $300 in cash prizes will be awarded. If work is sold through the online gallery, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society receives 35% of the sale. Accepted entries may not be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition, and prices may not be renegotiated after submission.
