About This Call
Open to living artists 18 years or older, regardless of geographic location. Artists may enter two different pieces, but only one piece per artist may be accepted into the show. Entry fee is $15 for CPSA members (2011 membership year) or $20 for nonmembers. Deadline for entries is 11:59pm Mountain Time, November 15, 2010.
Artwork must be predominantly colored pencil pigment and must include some element that makes it ineligible for the CPSA International Exhibition, such as 3-dimensional works, works with media other than colored pencil, collages, or prepared surfaces. Artwork must have been executed after November 15, 2007 and not previously hung in any national CPSA exhibition. Concept, design, and execution must be solely that of the artist with no work copied from copyrighted or published materials and no collaborations. Artists may submit one digital image for each 2-dimensional work and two digital images for each 3-dimensional work (sculpture).
Awards include a $1,500 cash award for best of show, EXPY award, and other cash amounts. All accepted work will be published in full color in To The Point magazine. The top three winners are invited to ship their work to the 19th Annual CPSA International Exhibition for display in Dallas, TX. Starting in 2009, CPSA members may earn CPX Signature status by having their art appear in three CPSA Explore This! Exhibitions within 10 years. Artwork may be for sale or not for sale. CPSA will forward any inquiries about purchasing artwork to the artist. By submitting an entry, the artist grants permission for CPSA to use the accepted image in its news magazine, website, DVD, and promotional materials.
