Colored Pencil Society of America Explore This! 18

Colored Pencil Society of America Explore This! 18 is an international exhibition open to living artists 18 years or older. Entry fees are $15 for CPSA members (2022 membership year) and $20 for non-members. Submissions must include 1-4 images. The exhibition runs from January 15, 2022 to January 14, 2023.

Entries must be predominantly colored pencil and include one or more of the following: another medium such as ink, watercolor, pastel, or acrylics; collage; artist-prepared surface; a three-dimensional surface; or any other technique, surface, or element not allowed for the CPSA International Exhibition. Work that is 100% colored pencil on a single 2D surface is not allowed. Artwork must be the original concept, design, and execution of the submitting artist and must have been completed on or after January 1, 2019. Artwork must not have appeared in any previous CPSA Explore This! Exhibition. Reference photos must be taken personally by the submitting artist, though reference photos taken by others may be used for incidental areas only, not the main focus. Work copied directly from someone else's photograph, copyrighted materials, online photo sites, or printed/digitally produced images is not allowed. Collaborative works and artwork derived from an instructor's design are not eligible.

Awards include a $2,000 cash award for Best of Show and EXPY Award, with lesser amounts and product awards given to other winners. A list of accepted artists will be posted at www.cpsa.org no later than January 15, 2022. Award winners will be notified by email or telephone soon after January 15. Failure to comply with specifications may result in disqualification, removal from the show, forfeiture of prizes, and prohibition from entering CPSA juried exhibitions for a minimum of one year.
