Colored Pencil Society of America Explore This! 12

Explore This! 12 is a mixed media exhibition open to living artists 18 years or older, regardless of geographic location. Both CPSA members and non-members are eligible to enter. Artists may submit up to two different pieces, but only one piece per artist may be accepted into the show.

Entry fees are $15 for CPSA members (2016 membership year) and $20 for nonmembers. Artwork must be predominantly colored pencil and must also include one or more of the following: other media added to the colored pencil (such as ink, watercolor, or acrylics), collage, artist-prepared surface, or 100% colored pencil applied to a three-dimensional surface. Work that is 100% colored pencil on a single two-dimensional surface is not allowed. Artwork must have been completed after November 15, 2012, and must not have appeared in any previous CPSA Explore This! exhibition. Concept, design, and execution must be solely that of the artist. No work copied from copyrighted or published materials, collaborations, or work copied exactly from someone else's photograph is permitted. Photo references other than your own may be used only to help compose your original concept. Artists may submit one digital image for each 2-D work and up to two digital images for each 3-D work.

Awards include a $2,000 cash award for Best of Show and EXPY Award, with lesser amounts and product awards given to other winners. All accepted work will be published in full color in To The Point. The top three winners are invited to ship their work to the 24th Annual CPSA International Exhibition in Tacoma, Washington, for display during the gallery exhibition in 2016. Acceptance notifications are posted on the CPSA website after January 15, 2016. Award winners are notified by email. Artwork may be designated for sale or not for sale, and this designation may be changed during the show by notifying the exhibitions director.
