Colored Pencil Society of America Explore This! 11

Open to living artists 18 years or older, regardless of geographic location. Artists may enter up to two different pieces, but only one piece per artist may be accepted into the show. The predominant medium must be colored pencil pigment, and artwork must include some element that makes it ineligible for CPSA International exhibitions, such as 3-dimensional works, works using other media with colored pencil, collages, or prepared surfaces. A 100% colored pencil work does not qualify without at least one such element.

Artwork must have been executed after November 15, 2011 and not previously displayed in any CPSA Explore This! exhibition. Concept, design, and execution must be solely that of the artist. No work copied from copyrighted or published materials, collaborations, or works copied exactly from someone else's photograph are permitted, though photo references may be used to help compose original concepts. Artists may submit one digital image for each 2-dimensional work and two digital images for each 3-dimensional work. Entry fee is $20 for nonmembers and $15 for CPSA members (2015 membership year). Deadline for entries is 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time, November 15, 2014.

Awards include a $2,000 cash award for best of show, EXPY award, and other cash prizes and products. All accepted work will be published in full color in To The Point magazine. The top three winners are invited to ship their work to the 23rd Annual CPSA International Exhibition in Atlanta, Georgia, for display in 2015. CPSA members may earn CPX signature status by having their art appear in three CPSA Explore This! online exhibitions within 10 years. By submitting an entry, artists grant permission for CPSA to use accepted images in To The Point, on its website, on a read-only DVD, and for promotional materials. Artists certify they hold the copyright and that the work is original and does not infringe on existing copyrights.
