Colored Pencil Society of America Explore This! 10

Open to living artists 18 years or older, regardless of geographic location. The predominant medium must be colored pencil pigment, and artwork must include some element that makes it ineligible for CPSA International exhibitions, such as 3-dimensional works, works with other media used with colored pencil, collages, or prepared surfaces. Artists may enter two different pieces, but only one piece per artist may be accepted into the show.

Artwork must have been executed after November 15, 2010 and not previously displayed in any CPSA Explore This! exhibition. The concept, design, and execution must be solely that of the artist. No work copied from copyrighted or published materials, collaborations, or works copied exactly from someone else's photograph are permitted, though photo references may be used to help compose original concepts. Entry fee is $15 for CPSA members (2014 membership year) and $20 for nonmembers. Artists must submit 1-4 digital images per work (one image for 2-dimensional work, two images for 3-dimensional work) by 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time on November 15, 2013.

Awards include a $2,000 cash award for best of show, EXPY award, and other cash prizes and products. All accepted work will be published in full color in To The Point magazine. The top three winners are invited to ship their work to the 22nd Annual CPSA International Exhibition for display in Ormond Beach, FL. CPSA members may earn CPX signature status by having their art appear in three CPSA Explore This! exhibitions within 10 years. By submitting an entry, artists grant permission for CPSA to use the accepted image in its news magazine, website, DVD, and promotional materials.
