Colorado Draws

Spark Gallery, Denver's original cooperative art gallery established in 1979, presents Colorado Draws, a juried exhibition open to Colorado artists who work with drawing in any medium. The exhibition celebrates drawing itself and the fundamental beauty of mark-making, welcoming work ranging from abstraction to realism on any theme in 2D expression.

The juror is Louise Martorano, award-winning Executive Director of RedLine, a contemporary art center and residency. Martorano has organized and presented over 100 exhibitions over the past 10 years and was recognized by the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation in 2017 with a Livingston Fellowship for promising non-profit leaders.

Entry fee is $35 for up to 3 pieces (1 to 3 images). Two-dimensional work must not exceed 38" in width and 108" in height. All work must be wired and ready to hang. Accepted work may be hand delivered to Spark Gallery (900 Santa Fe Drive, Denver CO 80204) on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 1-4 pm, or shipped via UPS or FedEx to arrive by January 2, 2021. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and must include prepaid return packaging. The exhibition runs January 8 - February 28, 2021. Juror notification of accepted works is Friday, December 4, 2020. Artists may pick up unsold work on Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 1-4 pm. No commission will be taken for sold works. In-person gallery hours will be complemented by a professionally produced virtual tour.
