Colorado AI Art Competition

The Colorado AI Art Competition invites artists to submit works that incorporate AI systems in their creative process. This competition explores the relationship between art and technology, examining how generative AI systems can unlock creative potential while raising important questions about artistic practice, copyright, and human creativity.

Submissions must include a work of art incorporating an AI system, a complete listing of software used, and if generative AI is used, the specific word-for-word prompts used to generate imagery or sounds. Acceptable formats include still images, animated/moving digital artwork, or video files in minimum 4K resolution (16:9 or 9:16 aspect ratio) in JPG, PNG, GIF, MP4, or MOV formats. An artist statement explaining the submitted work and its relation to the theme is required. Live-running generative code cannot be accepted.

Eligibility is limited to permanent residents of Colorado as of May 15, 2024. The entry fee is $5.00 per submission, with a maximum of 5 applications allowed per artist. Submissions must include 1-3 work samples (images, audio, or video). Jury dates are July 15-30, 2024. All submissions are conducted via the CaFÉ system at www.callforentry.org.
